Section 85A: Compounding of certain offences
(1) Any offence punishable with imprisonment for a term less than four years under this Act may, either before or after the institution of proceedings, be compounded by the metro railway administration, for such amount as the Central Government, may by notification, specify in this behalf.
(2) Where an offence has been compounded under sub-section (1), the offender if in custody shall be discharged and no further proceeding shall be taken against him in respect of such offence.
(3) No offence shall be compoundable if the offender, by reason of a previous conviction, is liable to an enhanced punishment or punishment of a different kind for such offence.
